The Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton stopped accepting some incoming patients Saturday after flooding caused a power outage, according to the city’s emergency management agency.The Brockton Emergency Management Agency said they were at the hospital working on a “major power outage resulting in the closure and evacuation of some areas of the hospital.”“Although the emergency room remains open to walk-in patients, all ambulances are being diverted to other hospitals,” the agency said in a statement just before 4:30 p.m.. “Remember that Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital still remains closed following the fire earlier this year.”BEMA Director Steve Hook said at 4 p.m. that street power had been restored to the entire hospital, “however, only the emergency room has power.”“They cannot perform surgeries, ICU, etc. Walk-in patients are being accepted into the emergency room but ambulances are being diverted.
