Bud Black has talked the talk, now it’s up to his pitchers to clean up the walks.“It’s something that we have stressed to the pitchers from Day 1 of spring training,” the manager said Saturday after Rockies pitchers issued eight walks in an 8-4 loss at San Diego. “They are aware of it. Tonight, the third game of the year, it didn’t happen for us. Over the long haul, we have to rectify what happened tonight and not let that happen again.”But it happened again Monday night in a 13-4 loss to the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Starter Ryan Feltner walked five in just 4 2/3 innings. He threw 92 pitches before getting the hook.“We’ve got to get over the efficiency hurdle,” Black told reporters in Los Angeles. “There’s too often that the pitch count is run up there (early), and (Feltner’s) got to be in the strike zone more often.”Last season, Colorado averaged 3.40 walks per nine innings, the sixth-highest rate in the majors.
